Vocational or Higher Education? Why not both?
Published At: July 01, 2020
ECA(Education Centre of Australia) is a diverse educational group that supports students throughout their academic journey, through English language courses, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, across the broad spectrum of disciplines.
Among ECA’s many institutions under its belt, ECA College and Asia Pacific College (APIC) are two schools that collaborate in order to provide vocational courses leading to higher education degrees like bachelors and masters.
Most students pursue vocational courses because of its duration. It is a lot faster to accomplish one instead of taking a bachelors program. For others, it’s about the cost. A vocational course would cost a fraction of its higher education counterpart making it the best choice, economic-wise.
In Australia, however, there is a big jump of students who pursue course packages that include a vocational course with the addition of a higher education program making it the best of both worlds. For Filipinos, this may be unfamiliar as most graduating high school students are used to choosing either to take a skilled course or a university program. Never was there an option to combine the two. ECA College and Asia Pacific College, however, offers something different.
While vocational courses are cheaper per se, most companies would still prefer hiring an employee who finished a bachelors program. In reality, even if your knowledge and skills are right off the bat better than your contemporaries, if you do not have a higher degree qualification, it will be more difficult seeking for jobs that you like.
With ECA College and Asia Pacific College’s course package offerings, not only will you learn practical and job specific skills, but also the theoretical and hypothetical aspects of the career path that you are trying to get into. This will give a balanced overview to students which will be a big help in the long run.

ECA College and Asia Pacific College also offer course packages for those looking into obtaining a post-graduate degree but do not want to splurge on tuition fees. Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) + Master of Business and Project Management & Graduate Diploma of Engineering + Master of Business and Project Management are two course packages that you can pursue and accomplish in 2 years time if you either have a passion for education or engineering, but have a business mindset as well.
Choosing to study a course package instead of a standalone bachelors or masters program is one way of paying cheap tuition fee in exchange for quality education. So if you are yet to choose between studying a diploma over a bachelors, or if you are still contemplating whether to take a graduate diploma versus a masters, ask yourself, “Why not both?”
